Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Academic Data Analyst develops and maintains a comprehensive data reporting system in support of the College of Engineering (COEN), and its programs and the Institute for Microelectronics Education and Research (MER) to assess equity gaps, enrollment trends, retention trends, course progress, and other areas of data analysis as needed. The individual will report to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, but they will also work closely with the Institute for Microelectronics Education and Research and the Micron Student Success Center.

Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
Essential Functions:
60% of Time the Position must:
Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand and provide data reporting needs for the College of Engineering and related programs.
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes regarding program enhancements, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and manage systems to develop regular reporting packages at intervals throughout the academic year.
• Coordinate with Business Intelligence Reporting Services (BIRS) to remain updated on university data reporting methods, platforms and standards.
• Generate data analysis reports and communications for university stakeholders.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and security of data and related documentation.
• Keep abreast of advancements in data analysis techniques, and relevant technology tools.
• Participate in professional development activities, attend conferences, and engage in continuous learning to enhance knowledge and skills.
30% of the Time the Position must:
• Utilize data insights to work with key stakeholders to identify best practices that can translate from one program to another.
• Monitor program progress, identify potential issues, and develop appropriate solutions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Foster relationships with existing data reporting partners on campus for best practices (including but not limited to: Enrollment Services Data team, Institute for Inclusive and Transformative Scholarship, etc)
10% Perform other duties as assigned or identified by assessments.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Strong quantitative/data analysis skills: ability to compile and organize data and analyze, interpret, and represent data to communicate meaningful insights.
• Ability to translate data insights from student data to tell compelling story about the student journey from recruitment, retention, to graduation
• Ability to work with disparate data repositories to identify and retrieve relevant data of interest to stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently to solve problems and seek resolution.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail in one's work.
• Demonstrated record of adhering to ethical and legal standards.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience analyzing student data in a higher education context.
• Proficiency in JMP Statistical Analysis and Machine Learning Software and SPSS Statistical Package for the Social Science. Salary and Benefits:
