Optimizing our enrollment mix is crucial to the long-term viability of IU Indianapolis. There are several factors that influence a student's college choice, persistence, graduation and success. The Division of Enrollment Management is comprised of over 100 full-time staff in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, Office of the Registrar, Office for Veterans and Military personnel, as well as other areas supporting student enrollment. The Division also oversees and provides insight for its enrollment operations for the Fort Wayne and Columbus campuses.

Job Summary
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at IU Indianapolis is seeking an Admissions Counselor to focus on recruitment of students to 1 of 4 academic pathways - Business, Public Affairs, and Philanthropy Pathway; Health Pathway; Science and Technology Pathway; Humanities and Social Sciences Pathway
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Recruits academically talented and diverse students for programs within a specific academic pathway.
- Develops and executes a comprehensive recruitment plan.
- Participates in recruitment events both in person and virtually on campus and off site.
- Hosts 1:1 and small group visits for students interested in associated pathway degree programs.
- Collaborates closely with faculty and administration in the academic schools to execute specialized recruitment and yield events.
- Designs recruitment activities that are inclusive and ensure outreach to prospective students from underrepresented identities.
- Coordinates the recruitment and enrollment of external transfer students.
- Conducts campus and departmental presentations for perspective students and their families.
- Serves as the pathway program contact for academic specific prospective campus visits.
- Utilizes CRM (Slate) to market associated pathway programs and to develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance enrollment and yield, enrollment forecasting and operational efficiency.
- Regularly analyzes data and deliver reports to the associated academic schools.
- Coordinates print, electronic and social media communications with Office of Admissions Communications team and associated academic schools.
- Coordinates recruiting efforts between the associated academic schools and the Undergraduate Office of Admissions.
- Develops a strong knowledge of academic departments, degree programs, career outcomes and new initiatives offered in the associated academic schools
- Attends IU Indy recruitment events that are held by the Office of Admissions.
- Tracks data on recruitment activities to develop a data driven approach to predict future recruiting efforts.
- Works in the community to increase public awareness of academic pathway programs, success stories, and opportunities.
General Responsibilities
- Maintains, implements and oversees a holistic recruitment yield tactical plan for recruitment.
- Develops, implements, and administers plans, programs, and events for general and targeted student recruitment in support of organizational goals.
- Integrates a diverse and strategic communications strategy in collaboration with other departments, geared toward specific student declared academic major, career interests, and geographic factors.
- Identifies and develops partnerships for outreach to prospective students and influencers.
- Interprets academic policies and exercises authority and independent judgment.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates programs and processes and determines the effectiveness of markets and strategies. Exercises independent judgment and uses census data and modeling tools to identify effective marketing plans and strategies to address specific populations.
- Serves in a collaborative role with internal and external stakeholders to identify targets of opportunity to attract and enroll under-represented populations. Participates in the assessment and evaluation of various models.
- May attend meetings or serve on committees with the admissions stakeholders, including all staff meetings, recruitment, and outreach team meetings, customer service lead meetings, and undergraduate recruitment council meetings; may provide guidance to other admissions counselors.

Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
