Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise and train accounting staff (Two direct reports - 2 Staff - AP and Payroll) ensuring team alignment with organizational policies and fostering professional growth
• Lead the monthly accounting closing process, including journal entry processing, general ledger account reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements.
• Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, CFR, CAS, and other relevant regulations.
• Drive improvements in month-end close and reporting processes, enhancing efficiency and data accuracy.
• Oversee the preparation of audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Manage data integrity for accounting systems, ensuring operational reliability and addressing software and hardware issues.

Qualifications:

• Advanced proficiency in Deltek CostPoint and comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and CFR/Uniform Guidance.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in management, preferably in nonprofit or federal contracting environments.
• High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
