Who We Are:

The Department of Space Instruments and Payloads is responsible for the development of spaceflight instrumentation, structures, and payloads. We design and fabricate custom solutions to answer or solve a complex situation not yet delivered by industry, as well as leverage our heritage platforms to accommodate a variety of payloads.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Provides clerical and administrative support to Space Instruments and Payloads department, including directors, managers, engineers and occasionally support other staff in the Space Systems Division as needed.
  • Must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills, have the ability to multi-task and take own initiative to complete necessary tasks.
  • Must be able to work under pressure with very short turn-around times.
  • Be proficient in M/S Word, PowerPoint, Adobe and Excel and Teams.
  • Willingness to learn and keep up with current technology.
  • Must have very good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintaining confidentiality is important for this position.
  • Be able to take initiative and follow through on assignments with limited supervision.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Provide meeting planning and logistics, manage calendars, coordinate meetings, schedule TEAMS meetings.
  • Keep track of project manager's project deliverables schedule and update the Tracker system.
  • Coordinate interviews and track hiring processes.
  • Coordinate travel itineraries and make reservations for domestic and foreign travel; prepare travel authorizations and expense accounts for travelers.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions and check requests.
  • Occasionally will need to ship equipment, both domestically and internationally and prepare the necessary documents.
Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with Secretarial/Administrative skills and work experience.
  • 6+ years: Related experience; Proficient in M/S Word; Proficient in Adobe; Proficient in Excel; Proficient in PowerPoint.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Special Requirements:

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
