Compensation$83,000 - $126,000- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers excellent competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members. The salary range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive salaries that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.
What you'll do
- While being highly technical and hands-on capable, you will perform development activities in support of our business applications.
- Managing the successful delivery of projects following the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Working closely with fellow Developers and Software Architects, will require continuous learning and improvement, to ensure deployment of solutions that meet software development best practices, standards and guidelines.
- Solid technical skills and positive influence will ensure you can lead and assist other developers with system design, coding practices, unit tests and proper deployment methods.
What you need Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree or completion of a Computer Science Program from a Technical Trade School preferred.
Intermediate or advanced level positions require the following:
- Minimum of two years of experience in application development, with a thorough knowledge of at least one programming language, is required.

- Proven experience in the delivery of high quality solutions utilizing the Microsoft .Net framework (C#/VB/ASP) and associated technologies including: WPF, MVC, HTML5, CSSS, JavaScript, jQuery, RDLC, NuGet, WinForms, SQL (DB2, MSSQL), SQL Server Management Studio, SSRS, SSIS, IIS, GitLab, XML, JSON, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerShell Nice to have: Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe LiveCycle Designer, Crystal, Cognos, use of media queries and adaptive design, Rally, QAComplete
- Participate in code review discussions and providing technical guidance to development teams. Ability to work collaboratively with architecture staff to establish and support coding standards and guidelines.
- Superior analytical and deductive reasoning skills along with the ability to make decisions independently or with minimal direction.
- Ability to foster a continuous learning environment by engaging in activities that grow technical and leadership skills, both personally and across teams. Training in PMP and Agile is a plus.
