ECS is seeking talented and driven professionals to support groundbreaking cybersecurity initiatives funded by the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) and led by the Resilient Systems Office (RSO). These include but are not limited to DIGIHEALS (Digital Health Security Initiative) and UPGRADE (Universal Patching and Remediation for Autonomous Defense). DIGIHEALS seeks to strengthen the nation's digital health infrastructure to protect against cyberattacks. UPGRADE seeks to enable every hospital to autonomously protect itself and patients from cyber threats.

What you will do. In this role, you will serve as a "systems engineering and technical assistance" advisor to the RSO Program Manager (PM) by providing support and thought leadership to the PM, the performer teams, and stakeholders across the health innovation ecosystem in the research and development of revolutionary approaches and solutions that will thwart cyber-attacks to the healthcare infrastructure and improve the cyber-resilience of our hospitals. More broadly, you will enable the agency to manage and provide oversight to advanced R&D efforts; help shape future R&D concepts, programs, and solutions; integrate and advance our nation's healthcare ecosystem processes, policies, and enabling technologies; and enable the agency to expand its healthcare and scientific scope into yet unknown areas. This includes:

  • Serve as a scientific and technical advisor for cutting-edge research projects that will address vulnerabilities in security health care data, identify limitations of future technology deployments, and contribute to the development of new innovations in digital security as well as tailored and scalable software to improve hospital cyber-resilience.
  • Facilitate the identification, development and testing of solutions across the technical areas of these ARPA-H cybersecurity programs such as DIGIHEALS and UPGRADE.
  • Contribute your thought leadership to the design and delivery of architecture solutions and software applications that will enhance the healthcare infrastructure and cyber-resilience of hospitals.
  • Provide technical support via your expertise in cybersecurity and healthcare, and collaborate closely with the R&D teams, their staff, and their software engineers to solve architecture, engineering, and other technical problems.
  • Support program managers in the development, technology transition, and commercialization of these new research methods, concepts, technologies, platforms, and processes.
  • Provide strategic assessments of methods and technologies related to the development of cybersecurity technologies and solutions.
  • Collaborate and support a team of performers with a range of expertise, such as other solution and application architects, development and test teams, infrastructure providers, enterprise architects and healthcare subject matter experts.
