The Associate Director of Data & Analytics will work closely with the Director of Data & Analytics in the Division of Health Policy and The Parity Center to manage a fast growing research portfolio and associated demand for streamlined data management processes. The Associate Director will support the Director of Data Analytics, The Parity Center Director, and The Parity Center Deputy Director to manage multiple statistical analysts who are responsible for the management and analysis of large administrative datasets and data from field experiments/clinical trials conducted by investigators in The Parity Center and affiliated institutions. The Associate Director will assist with the hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluation of Data and Analytic Core staff. They will collaborate with principal investigators and organizational leadership to guide analysts in outcome and health services research, including troubleshooting SAS programming, developing analytical strategy, and performing statistical modeling, They will help manage daily operations; establish and enforce documentation, data management, and quality standards; establish policies; and manage reporting, workflow management and staff assignments. They will assist the Director of Data & Analytics to identify, prioritize and lead continuous improvement initiatives that create more efficient data handling and data modeling processes over time and drive more effective utilization of clinical trial study infrastructures that promote better understanding of changes in health behaviors under different incentive designs. They will directly contribute to strategic planning, decision making and publications for a growing research portfolio in the capacity of co-investigator. The role of the Associate Director also includes promoting collaborations and training for a group of data analysts within MEHP and The Parity Center, setting up common study measures, functioning as the internal and external claims data expert, and building centralized data repositories that will benefit future studies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and 7 to 10 years of experience or Masters of Science, Masters of Arts, and 5 to 7 or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Masters Degree in public Health, Health Policy, Health Economics, or other health focused quantitative field (statistics or bio-statistics, health informatics, Data Science, economics, mathematics) preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of data management, claims data analysis, health services research methods, advanced applied statistics, and econometrics.

  • At least 7 years of experience in SAS programming, with advanced SAS, STATA, R or Python programming skills

  • Working knowledge of quasi-experimental methods common to observational studies, and experiences with cloud-based secured sever/study platform both internal (e.g., HSRDC) or external (e.g., VRDC)

  • At least 5 years of experience conducting or supporting health economics research using large claims databases and experience with Randomized Clinical Trials

  • At least 2 years of direct or indirect supervising and staff management experience including junior staff mentoring

  • Demonstrated high degree of independence in decision-making and excellent organization skills.

The Targeted Pay Range for this position is $74,476.00 - 138,391.00 USD Annual. This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.

This position is contingent upon grant funding.
