Chief Objective of Position:The Associate Director serves as a member of the Residence Life and Housing Administration central office team and is the staff member responsible for oversight, planning, and management of Housing Administration. This position is responsible for recommending and developing effective strategies targeted at maximizing housing occupancy and enhancing the satisfaction of residential students. The Associate Director will build partnerships with facilities and housekeeping staff to ensure residential facilities are safe, well-maintained, and meet Christopher Newport University's standard of excellence. The Associate Director may assume the responsibilities of the Director of Residence Life and Housing Administration when absent by providing support and direction to faculty, staff, and students.
This position is a full-time, 12-month position with on-call requirements that include nights, weekends, breaks, and holidays. The position is live-off, therefore, requires staff to live within a reasonable response time from campus with reliable transportation.
Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree with experience that equates to an advanced degree.

Experience Required:Starting at $68,000, commensurate with education and experience.
