SUMMARY:

The Associate Director leads the Student Engagement team within the Center for Student Involvement, and provides leadership for registered student organizations, fraternity and sorority life, and campus-wide programming. The Associate Director is responsible for student leadership programming to enhance the student experience. The Associate Director reports to the Director of Student Involvement and serves in the leadership team within the Center of Student Involvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Leads the Student Engagement team within the Center for Student Involvement, including supervising staff, developing and leading long-term planning, assessment, and budget oversight
  • Serves in the leadership team within the Center for Student Involvement to integrate programs and services in equitable ways
  • Develop and assess program and learning outcomes for registered student organizations, fraternity and sorority life, student leadership programs, and campus-wide programming
  • Provides leadership regarding student involvement and engagement, fraternity and sororities, and programming
  • Serves on a variety of university and divisional committees
  • Forges and strengthens collaboration with other units on campus across divisions
Program Administration
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of a student leadership development program for student organization and student leaders
  • Develop, implement, and assess comprehensive risk management, operational policies, and group conduct process for registered student organizations, fraternities, and sororities
  • Leads the coordination and implementation of signature events and campus-wide programs (e.g. Weeks of Welcome, SpiderFest, Candlelight Ceremony, Homecoming, etc.)
  • Provide leadership and strategic planning for fraternity and sorority life, lead any expansion or closing of chapters, and ensure a comprehensive \"Standards and Compliance" program to include new member education, community engagement, hazing, sexual misconduct, and ATOD education
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Student-centered approach to work and strong ability to work with historically underrepresented students
  • Comprehensive knowledge of college student development theory, program assessment, and research on student engagement theories
  • Well-versed in diversity, equity, and inclusion theories and applications and equity-minded
  • Knowledge of trends and legal issues within higher education, specifically risk management and those related to fraternities and sororities
  • Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, parents, and external community partners
  • Attention to detail
  • Collaborate, co-create, and build partnerships with faculty and key administrative offices
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Manage budgets and work creatively within budgetary constraints
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education: Master's degree or equivalent in higher education administration, college student personnel, or counseling is required.

Experience: 5-7 years of experience working within student engagement and involvement, fraternity and sorority life, campus programming, or student affairs is required. Demonstrated success leading a team. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, other units, and committees.

WORK HOURS:
  • Full-time, exempt position
  • Monday - Friday, 8:30-5:00; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week; evenings & weekends required
SALARY STRUCTURE:

Pay Grade 7 (Hiring Range $55,640.00 to $73,736.00)
