Duties: The Asst. Chief of Clinical Physics - White Region is a board certified Medical Physicist who participates in meeting the overall clinical physics needs of the Division of Medical Physics within the Department of Radiation Oncology network practices. Specifically, the Assistant Chief of Clinical Physics - White Team directs all medical physics and dosimetry efforts for multiple Radiation Oncology facilities (including participation in HUP s Quality Assurance Program and Quality and Safety Management Services) and serves on Department committees and workgroups as requested. He/She provides supervisory oversight and training for facility physicists and dosimetrists and participates (with appropriate entity ministration) in HR functions for this group. The Asst. Chief of Clinical Physics - White Team, provides lead clinical physicists services at Pennsvlania Hospital, Penn Medicine Radnor, the Philadelphia Veterans Administration and Penn Medicine Valley Forge, including equipment quality assurance and calibration, simulation and treatment planning, patient specific quality assurance and required chart checks and review, equipment maintenance and vendor relations, radiation safety, and special physics activities. He/She directs development and implementation of new clinical programs and collaborates with Radiation Safety to ensure compliance with required education and documentation. The Asst. Chief of Clinical Physics - White Team is expected to maintain knowledge of current technologies and applicable regulations and remain an active member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine and will work with the Vice Chair, Physics Division, the Regional Medical Director and the Network Administrative team to ensure the highest level of quality and safety throughout the clinical enterprise.
Qualifications: The minimum of a Master's Degree and 7 years to 10 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Advanced degree is a plus. Board certification is mandatory. Must pass Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Act (also known as Act 73) background checks, within 30-90 days of employment.
