MA Coordinator
Position SummaryThe MA Coordinator position will oversee a curriculum that ensures students come away with an understanding of the role statistics plays in educational research including the role of Bayesian statistics which are foundational to how generative AI are designed and function today (e.g., machine learning algorithms). This includes how generative AI can be used to support the interpretation and application of quantitative measurements in educational research. In addition, students will learn how to think ethically and responsibly about the use of AI in educational research by studying it from historical, social, and cultural perspectives. The program will be designed with a mixture of required and elective courses on quantitative measurement, educational studies with varying methodologies, and artificial intelligence.
This person will be tasked with working both independently and with faculty members to design the curriculum for the new master's program. This will involve (a) completing a market analysis and investigating target audience for the development of the new program, (b) working with the Program Development committee to develop a list of required courses and elective courses that together satisfy university requirements, and (c) identifying the key concepts and learning objectives that will be covered in each course.

Minimum RequirementsIf the candidate has a PHD they will be hired as fixed-term faculty. If the candidate has a Master's Degree, they will be hired as fixed-term academic specialist.
Desired QualificationsExperience in curriculum design/development, particularly in an online learning environment. It is preferred but not required that applicants have a background in artificial intelligence, quantitative measurement, science and technology studies.
