Seeking Band Saw Operators in Tulare!

Volt is immediately hiring for a Band Saw Operator in Tulare, CA.

As a Band Saw Operator you will:

  • Sets up and operates cutting machines to cut, slot, groove, miter, and trim steel as per specifications.
  • Selects and installs the appropriate blade on the machine using hand tools.
  • Adjusts controls to set the speed, feed rate, and blade tension.
  • Positions guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and align the steel using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Loads steel into the holding device, either manually or with an overhead crane.
  • Interprets job orders and blueprints to understand specifications.
  • Inspects materials for quality by measuring the cut stock with a ruler, caliper, or square to ensure compliance with dimensions.
  • Operates material handling equipment and organizes vehicles to facilitate the movement of materials to and from the cutting area.
  • Conducts daily preventative maintenance checks as necessary.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
  • Utilizes forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and dollies as required for the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
This is a full time position: Monday -Friday 7:00 AM- 4:30PM

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong verbal and communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to stand or move around the shop for the entirety of the shift.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment M.A.T. testing and the Fabricator Tool Test is necessary.
  • A solid understanding of shop safety protocols is essential.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Previous experience in Dairy Fields or Dairy Services is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities are required.
  • The employee must be able to occasionally talk, hear, bend, kneel, squat, push, pull, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs. Frequent walking and standing are also necessary.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • A standard work week consists of 40 hours, but additional hours, non-scheduled shifts, and extra workdays may be required to adapt to changing production demands, new projects, product development,
Pay Rate: $21/hr+ Pay is based on experience
