Who are we looking for?

The GHD West Region has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Lead- Environment to support driving the growth and delivery of strategies and projects focused on contaminated site assessment/remediation, water resources, emerging contaminants, renewable energy, natural resources, etc. You will collaborate with GHD West Regional Leadership to develop and execute market growth and strategy across the West. This position will be based out of GHD's San Francisco, CA office.

Responsibilities of the position are:

Market Sector Growth

  • Focus on developing market trends such as emerging pollutants, environmental liability management, renewable energy, impact assessment and natural resources, and opportunities related to the Mining sector
  • Develop an integrated strategy to help originate opportunities and projects with private and public clients
  • Responsible for bringing in new work from non-existing clients in various sectors
  • Act as an advocate to support the synergistic relationships between and among GHD markets such as Environmental, Transportation, Water and our Future Energy initiative
  • Identify developing industry trends in the Mining sector and seek out new opportunities for GHD services in this area-
  • Focus on pre-positioning GHD with clients for new work and new approaches to developing relationships with prospective clients
  • Build GHD client relationships through industry knowledge and experience
  • Help originate new projects by connecting clients with other industry contacts and SME's within GHD
  • Attend industry conferences and seminars representing GHD and marketing GHD services
  • Develop relationships with technology and project delivery partners to position GHD to provide services across the life cycle of projects
Internal Client Relationships
  • Act as a GHD Relationship Manager and point person for linking GHD's Business Advisory support into our core markets
  • Push project leads and work out to various GHD Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as appropriate (PMs, BGLs, SLLs, PDs etc.)
  • Work collaboratively and seamlessly with other internal groups, networks, Regions, and organizations to win and complete work and service commitments
  • Embrace the "One GHD" philosophy by collaborating with teams worldwide to share capabilities and project opportunities
  • Engage in purpose-led communications with other Business Groups to inspire the team and enhance the Employee Experience (EX)
Client Development & Technical Work
  • Provide Project Origination Support to potential clients on developing projects and trends that have a high probability of resulting in services
  • Reach out through site visits, meetings and telecommunications with clients to further develop or continue industry relationships, manage client expectations, and identify further GHD services that could be offered
  • Focus on seeking out and developing clients in the mining, renewable energy, and water sectors, actively winning new work in these sectors
  • Support project-related technical delivery through review and QA/QC of deliverables, stamping documents where appropriate, and providing subject matter expertise
  • Ensure Client needs are met and work product is excellent through proactive client management and acting as Project Director
Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Science or Engineering
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 20 years' experience in the market with strong connections to the broader environmental market in North America/globally building a team of experts, delivery of work in this area

Salary Range: $144,560-$208,000 based on experience.
