Your Role

You will drive business development activities for the company's Viral Vector Millipore® CTDMO Services businesses by advancing our market presence in North America - East. Our vision is to help biotech companies take their assets from early clinical stage to market as fast as possible.

As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for the company's continued market entry for our growing offering, building territory plans, identifying target customers in line with the business goals, and ensuring applicability of marketing tactics for the territory. You will consistently apply a working knowledge of Professional, Consultative and Strategic Selling skills to primarily develop relationships with new customers, but also maintain existing business, and develop incremental business in existing accounts.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the Cell and Gene Therapy market space, manufacturing processes and the drug development regulatory environment, as well as the ability to make strategic decisions and articulate this future vision to both internal and external audiences at all levels of the organization. The candidate will work directly with the Head of Sales for the Viral Vector CTDMO Services group and technical teams to uncover opportunities, identify manufacturing solutions, and negotiate service contracts.

The new team member will work for the BioVV Commercial Team to define and prioritize new opportunities as well as collaborate with Field Marketing Managers across the US region, by:

  • playing a lead role in building out the customer pipeline through proactive customer engagement
  • attendance of technical customer discussions, and understanding the individual customer's needs around their manufacturing process.
  • Representing the Viral Gene Therapy business at conferences (lead generation)
  • Driving to close contract negotiations for viral vector manufacturing services, throughout the technical sales cycle

Can be fully remote but East Coast based

This is a role with up to 40% travel. The candidate is expected to be self-motivated, driven, and comfortable operating in a remote matrix setup.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology (Cell, Molecular, Virology, Immunology) or Engineering or related disciplines
  • 5+ years of sales / technical sales experience or client relationship experience, ideally in a bio-manufacturing environment
  • Proven track records in negotiating long term/large scale contracts in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment
  • Ability to act as "voice of the expert", provide effective communication to achieve solid working relationships with customers
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying new cell and gene therapy target opportunities and acting to establish contacts - a proven "hunter"
  • Experience in explaining technical capabilities, and presentations
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to manage projects across functions
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Native level in English, other languages a plus
  • The expectation is that the candidate would spend up to 50% of their time traveling, in meetings at client sites or at industry events
  • This is a remote position, but candidate must be based on the East Coast of the US

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or PhD in Biology (Cell, Molecular, Virology, Immunology), Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred expertise in VGT/CGT commercial approvals, process development, bioreactor technology, downstream processing, and biological safety testing.
  • Proven experience working in a regulated environment, with the ability to collaborate effectively with process development, quality assurance, and quality control teams.
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects.
  • Proficient in independent MSA (Master Service Agreement) and contract negotiations.
