Nature of Work

Support the overall efforts of the Business Development team in developing relationships with clients, owners, contractors, subcontractors and others in support of achieving the business plan. Contribute to the proposal process to ensure both accuracy and visual quality in response to all Requests for Proposal (RFP), Request for Qualifications (RFQ) solicitations. Serve as contact for external and internal marketing specific to subsidiary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate as an active member of the proposal and estimate review team. Provide direction and actively participate in closing the "sale." May assist in final contract negotiations with the client.
  • Provide input to the management team on new product or service features to be developed to meet current and future customer needs.
  • Call and visit target customers to promote and sell establishment products and services.
  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluation options; resolving internal priorities
  • Evaluate risk on potential projects · Implements negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; participate in developing and negotiating contracts; participate in integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Act as onboarding resource for hiring managers, and as an onboarding mentor for new hires.
  • Facilitate summer internship program from the interview process through summer internship. 

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Assumes responsibility for day-to-day financial management of assigned scope of responsibility by understanding the budget process, accurately forecasting and limiting month-to-month fluctuations.
  • Maintains fiscal records and follows procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Understands business plan and manages financial goals.
  • Makes operational decisions in light of broader financial goals and constraints.

  • Inspires a sense of team in the work environment. Utilizes communication and conflict resolution skills to help foster teamwork and collaboration. Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude, maintaining composure under pressure.

  • Requires proficiency in the use of proposal/presentation technologies to include Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator) or similar.

Education

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 5-7 years or more of related work experience preferred

Decision

  • Makes decisions on assigned areas of responsibility, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor, as needed.
