Location: Gulfport, MS
Salary: $75,000.00 USD Annually - $85,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our metals manufacturing client that has been in business for 50+ years is currently seeking a Cast house Supervisor for their operations not far from New Orleans. To qualify for this role you must have experience with Direct Chill Aluminum casting and be willing to work a 3pm-11pm Monday to Friday shift. This is a union plant so they would also like someone who has experience working with union employees.

This is a salaried role but there is also regularly the chance for work on Saturdays and you would be paid for a full days work on that 6th day. Relocation assistance is being offered and there is a discretionary bonus.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
• Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
• Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human
• Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance,
• and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase productivity of shop, department, or work crew.
• Enforces safety regulations, and recommends disciplinary action when necessary.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
• Follows safe work procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associates degree (A.A.) from two-year college or university or three to five years related experience and/or training.
  
• Must have aluminum Direct Chill casting experience
  
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
