Supervise and coordinate activities of staff engaged in claims processing and adjusting activities. Provide support to staff with questions on account insurance coverage, and escalated complaints. Support, advise and make recommendations regarding the efficient, profitable and effective processing of claims.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise the daily activities of staff, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
  • Assist manager in planning, coordinating and distributing claims workflow
  • Assist staff with interpreting account insurance coverage in order to settle claim
  • Resolve escalated complaints and answer questions from clients regarding services and procedures
  • Provide account analysis and audits
  • Assist with establishing service benchmarks and reporting on performance measurements
  • Assist in researching and recommending new processes for improving departmental procedures
  • Assist manager in hiring, training, development and retention of staff

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide recommendations for various projects including processes, account conversions and product development
  • Provide internal training to internal customers on claims processes

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer) required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the most appropriate one
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and supervise people as they work
  • Knowledge of claims adjusting
  • Knowledge of Collateral Protection Insurance and other products preferred
  • Knowledge of policy forms and account insurance coverage
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, pertaining to adjusting claims

Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 3-5 years supervisory/management experience
  • P&C Adjuster License
  • You must have ability to secure all required state licensing within the first 90 days of employment
