Volt is immediately hiring CNC Mill Set Up Operator in Simi Valley, CA!

As a CNC Mill Set Up Operator you will:
- Set up and touch off tools.
- Prove and edit new programs at the machine control.
- Set up all CNC fixtures and tooling for each specified job.
- Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to optimize cycle time and tool life.
- Proficiently use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, indicators, and height gauges.
- Interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints from supervisors and/or engineering.
- Operate all machines in the department, including CNC, drills, buffers/grinders, without assistance.
- Perform part inspections using measuring devices.
- Interface with the quality department for verification of first articles.
- Machine moderately complex parts.
- Perform a lead role in the machine shop, setting a positive example.
- Train and assist Machine Operators.
- Solve material and part issues.
- Visually inspect material during the machining process to prevent defects and scrap.
- Complete all required documentation.
- Clean and maintain machines and tooling.
- Follow safe operating procedures when using all tools and equipment.
- Provide written suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Assist with training others.
- Strictly comply with FDA and ISO control standards and record keeping.
- Adhere to company Quality and Safety standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with 5S principles.
- Complete all required training applicable to the assigned position.
- Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
This is a Full-Time 1st Shift Opportunity.
Pay Rate: $20-25/hr
The ideal candidate will have:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, gauges, and measuring equipment proficiently.
- Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to create minor programs.
- Assist with altering programs so tools and parts run properly.
- Working knowledge of CNC techniques, normally acquired through post-high school coursework and/or 1-2 years of hands-on experience.
- Understanding of tools and tool offsets.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
