Actively representing a 30+ year established general contractor based in Fairfax County who are looking to hire a Project Engineer to join and provide excellent support to an outstanding project management team. You will gain exposure by working on-site on large, new build commercial construction projects in the Northern Virginia area.

Your new role:

As a Project Engineer you will provide administrative and project management support to the Project and Field Management team. The projects that you will be working on are fast-paced commercial interior projects.

Your task is to support the team to ensure that targets set for the project are completed to the required standard of quality and within the set time and budget. You will be involved in a variety of tasks including project scheduling, bidding, take-offs, procurement and cost controls; as well as the management of RFI's, submittals and change orders.

What you'll need to succeed:

• 1-2 years' experience working in the construction industry for a general contractor or subcontractor.
• Experience in commercial construction, this could be on new build or interior renovation projects.
• Bachelor's degree in a construction related discipline preferred but not essential.
• This is a fast-paced position so you will need to be able to multi-task and be an excellent communicator and able to work with different personalities and levels of seniority within an organization.
• Experience in any construction software experience you have such as procore or bluebeam in addition to proficiency in Microsoft packages is a plus.
• Candidates must be local to Northern Virginia and/or DC. Overseas applicants will not be considered for this opportunity.
