The Staff Attorney supports our client across a broad range of legal, regulatory, legislative, and policy issues. Responsibilities include providing legal research, drafting, policy support, and analysis, as well as working closely with Legal, Government, and Trial Court Liaison teams. The role also involves collaborating with various committees, such as the Ad Hoc Committee on American Rescue Plan Act Funding, the Standing Committee on Legislation, and other entities within our client's organization. This hybrid position reports to General Counsel, offering both on-site and telework options based on agency needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth legal, regulatory, legislative, and policy research and provide training for our client's staff and clients.
- Draft a variety of legal documents, including memos, legislation, rules, policies, and ethics opinions.
- Analyze statutes, case law, rules, regulations, and policies to support our client's objectives.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and oversee contracts and MOUs on behalf of our client.
- Act as liaison between the Supreme Court and trial court councils, assisting with drafting and compliance for court rules and forms.
- Represent our client in various meetings and staff committees and other assigned entities.
- Manage projects to coordinate resources within our client's organization to meet client needs.
- Provide legal support to designated commissions, boards, committees, and councils.
- Respond to public and agency inquiries, including Open Records Requests.
- Ensure judicial commissions and boards adhere to Supreme Court rules and state laws.
