Contract Specialist



Summary:



The Contract Specialist's primary responsibility is to review, revise, negotiate and finalize customer contracts as well as revisions suggested to Maxim Crane standard agreements. The successful candidate must have a meticulous nature suited to reading for the majority of each workday paying close attention to detail; possess good writing skills; and be an effective communicator/negotiator (through both the written and spoken word). The Contract Specialist will be exposed to Maxim Crane employees and suppliers/customers throughout the U.S. on a daily basis. The Maxim Crane Legal Department has a team mentality and the Contract Specialist will have constant interaction with all members of the Department including the Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel. This is a full-time, exempt position that works onsite in our office in Canonsburg, PA.



Responsibilities:


* Review Customer Agreements, Contracts, Purchase Orders, and other legal documents to identify areas of legal and operational concern
* Work with Maxim sales reps as well as client contacts to negotiate and modify problematic clauses in above documents
* Manage all updates and modifications to Maxim Crane standard contract documents
* Work within and update documents within Maxim Crane’s contract database

Skills & Qualifications


* Bachelor’s degree
* Experience reviewing legal contracts, construction or related industry experience preferred
* Honed analytical and organization skills
* Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
* Keen attention to detail with an ability to spot errors
* Versed in working with employees at all levels of the organization, customers, and outside counsel
* Proven time-management skills
* Adept at working both independently and in a team environment
