Summary:
Coordinates the development of performance improvement processes, assists with compliance with internal and external standards and regulations through monitoring and promotion of continuous survey readiness for the Memorial Healthcare System Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Services.
Responsibilities:
Assists with community trauma preventions programs, community offerings and clinical education activities.Consults with members of the care team to ensure effective and efficient patient care and desired patient outcomes.Monitors national trends and data to identify opportunities for strategic follow-up and loop closure.Coordinates, implements and maintains quality improvement activities for trauma and acute care surgery service including outcome and cost analysis, preparing benchmark data reports, hospital trauma registry (HTR) system reports and American College of Surgeons (ACS) clinical indicators.Coordinates, assembles, and maintains required documentation for verification by the Florida Department of Health and American College of Surgeons.Serves as a resource for healthcare team members, patients, families and community organizations regarding trauma and acute care surgery.

Additional Job Information:
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Required Experience:Minimum of five (5) years' acute care nursing experience with emphasis on trauma or related field.Preferred Experience:Critical Care Nursing, Trauma Nurse Other Information: Additional Education Info: Bachelors Degree; Must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position and must be enrolled in a BSN program within twelve (12) months of hire or transfer.
