Job Details:

his position is responsible for ensuring that team members are properly trained on procedures to operate and/or maintain machinery while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Summary:

This position provides translation and interpreting services throughout the plant and the community.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak the same language by converting one spoken language to another. Interpreting services include but are not limited to Employment, Training & Orientation, Meetings, Human Resources, Health Services, and other operational activities as assigned. This position is held to a strict code of confidentiality. The interpreter must be willing to work in all environments of the facility.

Must be able to drive to attend outside appointments to interpret for team members and to attend community events and other outside appointments and activities. Must be able and willing to interpret for large meetings and groups throughout the plant.

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and able and willing to keep conversations confidential.

Must be able to work with little to no direct supervision. Basic PC skills preferred, primarily Microsoft Windows, MS Excel Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office programs. Must be capable of communicating well verbally and in writing with all levels of team members from hourly to upper management and government officials. Position requires strong customer service, organizational and human relation skills. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must have a valid driver license and the ability to drive a company vehicle. Preference given to trilingual applicant. Qualified candidate must be willing to become a certified interpreter with a passing score of 90% or higher. Preference given to applicants with prior office procedure experience and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience.
