We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Data Entry and Accounting Assistant Contractor to assist our client's team with various administrative and accounting tasks. This is a contract position ideal for someone with strong data entry skills and a foundational understanding of accounting. If you're proactive, detail-focused, and have the ability to manage financial data with accuracy, we'd love to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and timely data entry into various systems and databases.
- Assist with basic accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable/receivable, reconciling financial records, and maintaining accurate ledgers.
- Process invoices and payments, ensuring that all financial entries are recorded correctly.
- Assist with preparing and generating financial reports and summaries.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date digital records and financial files.
- Communicate with vendors or clients to resolve discrepancies or clarify financial data.
- Support the accounting team with other administrative tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data entry, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, including balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger entries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, etc.).
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Reliable internet connection and computer.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a data entry or accounting assistant role.
- Experience with financial reporting, payroll, or tax documentation.
- Basic knowledge of tax forms or other financial records.
