Job Summary
This position supports the Senior Director of Advancement in driving momentum of development and advancement efforts of the IU Indianapolis Kelley School of Business.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support for the university's development and advancement efforts.
- Maintains and updates donor databases.
- Schedules events and travel for donor interaction and solicitation; prepares and sends digital and direct mail solicitations.
- Prepares documentation of pledged and received gifts.
- Coordinates stewardship and donor recognition activities.
- Assists in executing campaigns each fiscal year in collaboration with Kelley Annual Giving Team
- Interacts with donors at Unit and University events
- Interacts with donors through personal visits, phone, and electronic communication
- Assists in executing events each year in collaboration with Kelley Bloomington and Kelley Indianapolis partners
- Assists in alumni engagement activities
- May perform other duties in support of other functions or business needs.
General Responsibilities
- Performs administrative tasks in support of the university's development and advancement efforts and may interact with officers across all development and advancement job families, as well as donors, the general public, and representatives across the university and university community.
- Tasks may include answering phone calls and emails, maintaining and updating donor databases, scheduling events and travel for donor interaction and solicitation, preparing and sending digital and direct mail solicitations, preparing documentation of pledged and received gifts, and coordinating stewardship and donor recognition activities.
- Compiles metrics, facts, and general operations information about IU and its schools and departments for distribution to donors.
- Prepares and updates basic and complex reports and presentations for use by other development staff, engaging supervisor for help as needed.
- Provides an excellent donor experience through customer service, active listening, inclusive language, and thoughtful and persuasive discussion, consistently upholding the integrity and mission of Indiana University.
- May provide guidance to lower-level Development Coordinators.

EDUCATION
Required- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required- 4 years of experience in fundraising/development, administrative, higher education foundation, or related field

Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Additional InformationThe target start date for this position is January, 2025.
Work LocationThis position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
