How you will make an impact:
Seeking a Division Business Controller who will provide controllership expertise, insights and business partnering leadership to the global Chemical Analysis Division team. This role will ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and timely and accurate financial reporting. In addition, the position holder will provide valuable decision support, identify, and implement operational improvement opportunities and give to the development and execution of the business' annual strategic plan.
What you will do:
- Partner with business and leadership in driving business performance to meet short- and long-term objectives.
- Own Division balance sheet, including US GAAP and local entity financial statement accuracy and responsible for understanding and communicating performance drivers for the Division/Group.
- Responsible for Division revenue recognition and managing commercial partners, while adhering to accounting policies.
- Partner effectively with Group Accounting Operations and Global Business Services to ensure timely and accurate monthly accounting close results for consolidated reporting.
- Analyze sophisticated transactions to determine financial statement impact and recording accuracy.
- Drive continuous improvement and use systems to increase controls and efficiencies.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Analyze financial and business performance against goals and monitor pertinent financial highlights that will enable understanding of progress against strategic objectives.
- Drive strategies to improve controllership efficiencies, and scalability, including the application and execution of policy, process, and system governance.
- Provide guidance on sophisticated transactions/agreements/deals to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies, with clear communication on business implication.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy and standard operating procedure; recommends changes to strengthen control environment.
- Effectively communicate financial results to senior leadership, draw insight from analysis, develop compelling, synthesized recommendations.
How you will get here:Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
- CPA or equivalent with 10+ years of accounting/finance experience in larger public, multinational organization is preferred.
- Sophisticated understanding of GAAP is a must.
- Application knowledge of ERP systems and Accounting Transactions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Excellent understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls
- Proficient user of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis)
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills including ability to take an independent stance on positions across functional partners and senior leadership.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to elevate perspective at the appropriate time.
- Challenges the status quo; introduces and proactively seeks out new insights and solutions to strengthen our performance.
- Ability to connect, integrate, and synthesize analysis to drive clear strategic recommendations and enable commercial decisions.
- Ability to parlay technical proficiencies to develop concise, clear, and accurate reporting and analytics; translate data to practical information (communicates openly, uses business acuity).
- Ability to adapt to changing pressures or new information quickly.

Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $145,500.00-$194,000.00.
