McKesson is seeking a dynamic leader to fill the role of DCL (Distribution Center Leader) at our state of the art fully automated distribution center located in Chicago (Bartlett), IL. The DCL will be accountable for delivering top notch service to our customers, inspiring, motivating and developing team members, as well as achieving daily performance standards and metrics. This is an incredible opportunity to lead a team of roughly 450 warehouse and delivery professionals, while owning responsibility for all areas of the distribution center. This includes $60M in inventory, inbound receiving, outbound picking/shipping operations, facility maintenance, as well as a private fleet with over 60 vehicles. Once hired, this new leader will be a key part of the interview, hiring and onboarding for the exempt leadership and the non-exempt teams in both the warehouse and transportation departments.

The DCL must be located in, or willing to relocate to, the metro Chicago, IL area.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds and fosters a positive engagement culture within the distribution center.
  • Leads and develops warehouse and transportation teams to deliver unparalleled client satisfaction.
  • May evaluate current procedures and practices for accomplishing the distribution center's financial objectives and develop and implement improved procedures and practices as needed.
  • Ensures the distribution center receives, picks and ships product orders in timely manner to meet deadlines. Reviews and analyzes productivity reports.
  • Ensure the transportation team delivers safely and efficiently to our customers.
  • Ensures the security and quality of products and orders with inventory control.
  • Gives work direction, resolves problems, and manages deadlines to ensure timely completion of work within the distribution center.
  • Monitors productivity, overtime and attrition to ensure stability of the workforce.
  • Manages a daily plan to exceed expectations for productivity and accuracy.
  • Maintains a clean, safe warehouse environment
  • Leads Team Members with I2CARE values and principle
Minimum Requirements:
• 12+ years operational experience including 10+ years managerial experience

Critical Skills:
• Experience managing P&L for a large organization
• Strategic thinker with ability to dig deep into details when needed for problem resolution
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to build, motivate and influence cohesive teams
• Experience managing both warehouse and transportation operations to include all safety and compliance aspects

• Very thorough knowledge of all aspects of Operations in a high-volume distribution center
• Proven track record of building morale, promoting teamwork and creating a culture of positive engagement and productivity
• Ability to engage workforce and mentor leadership team
• Exceptional relationship building skills with strong ability to influence others
• Experience with automation and technical aptitude for ad hoc problem resolution

• Must be able to travel via plane to multiple distribution centers across the US for training and assimilation to McKesson.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with JD Edwards or similar Warehouse Management Systems
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to take initiative and perform under pressure
• Strong analytical skills, with an ability to process data and leverage it to influence critical business decisions and priorities

Education
• 4-year degree or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements
• General office and warehouse demands to include standing, sitting, walking in a warehouse environment with changing temperatures
• Must be able to carry and operate a laptop
• Must be able to travel via plane to multiple distribution centers across the US for training and assimilation to McKesson.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$122,300 - $203,800
