OVERVIEW

Full-time/Permanent Employee

Location: Remote

As a Mechanical Engineer III, you will be responsible for providing guidance and expertise in mechanical engineering to design complex mechanical equipment and systems, and to investigate, evaluate and develop new applications for existing equipment and systems. You will analyze assigned tasks to provide estimates of manpower and material required to complete and prepare schedules for accomplishing tasks within estimates. From time to time, you will evaluate operational systems and design modification to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements. You will develop new applications requiring appreciable originality and ingenuity, and complex test procedures for equipment and systems which are significantly different from existing designs. You may be responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting the development of each assignment; coordinating manpower assigned to each activity and coordinating the activities of group involved in various stages of overall program to ensure effective integration.

The proposed salary range for this position is $99,500-$132,500. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSBILITIES

  • Perform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)
  • Design systems and components that meet needs and requirements
  • Conduct experiments methodically, analyzes data and interpret results
  • Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
  • Evaluate final product's overall performance, reliability, and safety
  • Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions
  • Prepare product reports and documentation
  • Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods
  • Support operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions.
  • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded
  • Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area
  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met/exceeded to the customer's satisfaction
  • Completes personal PDP and attend Staff Meeting and Storytime (with camera on)
  • Within your program, build productive and positive professional relationships with clients
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline with 5 - 7 years of experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA)
  • Understanding of additive manufacturing types, limitations, and printing considerations in adapting parts for 3D printing
  • Understanding of Air Force Configuration Control requirements and CM2 Configuration Control best practices; experience preparing/reviewing technical documents for Configuration Control Boards
  • Experience in performing finite element analysis and modeling
  • Experience in developing standards and guidelines for tasks being performed, able to brief and convey to the government team clear descriptions of such
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill sets
  • Strongly desired experience with Agile, SCRUM and ITIL.
  • Experience analyzing technical documents and infrastructure for compliance with objectives and thresholds; able to articulate findings and recommend remedies or alternatives.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with Creo Parametric in creating and modifying model-based definition technical data packages
  • Experience with including a basic working knowledge of C++
  • Basic working knowledge of Python or Matlab for database operations, data analysis, and data visualization of large datasets
  • CAD certifications and training preferred
