We are looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Clean Air Technologies team in the Atlanta Metro area. The successful candidate will disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, assemble and test electrical equipment which are predominantly 480V and below.

To be successful as an electrical technician, you should be able to read electrical system design plans and drawings and repair procedures, recommend equipment improvements, calibrate instruments, and diagnose faulty equipment.

What you will be doing

Here's an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:

  • Disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, troubleshooting, evaluating, repairing, assembling, testing, packaging and shipping of electrical equipment and apparatus associated with SIR equipment and other spare parts for Clean Air Technologies/Air Pollution Control Systems.
  • Working with medium voltage (480V) equipment.
  • Repairing and assembling parts, using hand tools and specifications.
  • Reading and interpreting and following electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and procedures.
  • Advising management on continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus, and of modifications needed to equipment.
  • Comfortable working with medium voltage (480V) equipment.
  • Comfortable operating material handling equipment including overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Willingness to travel, on occasion, to supplier or customer site to assist with supervision of erection & commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs and training.
  • Willingness to travel, leading service group sales efforts in field
  • Possess strategic, logical, and methodical thinking for problem solving, organization, time management, prioritization, and independent decision-making skills, while accurately handling multiple tasks requiring detail
  • Assist in administration of warehousing for spare parts
  • Provide support in elaboration of proposals for repair and/or upgrade work associated with APC (air pollution control) equipment, predominantly ESP's (electrostatic precipitator)
  • Support administration of proposals and purchase orders in companies ERP system (SAP)

What we are looking for

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following:
  • Two-year electrical, technical, or related degree.
  • At least 2 years' experience as an electrical technician.
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
  • Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.
  • Good knowledge of electrical standards and norms applied in the North American market;
  • Knowledge of other international standards (ISO, DIN, etc.) is an asset.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and meet project and deliverable schedules.
  • SAP/CRM Experience is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and open to training.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience in low voltage electrical testing,
  • Willing to travel, up to 30%
