Matrix Providers has a civilian contracted opportunity for a full-time Electroencephalographic Technologist to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our U.S. military and their families at Madigan Army Medical Center located in Tacoma, WA.

  • Employment Status: Full-Time (W2) Employee
  • Compensation: $35.52/hour to $36.60/hour, plus $4.23/hour for Health & Welfare
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. There will be some on call and overtime as well.

Qualification Requirements: The Electroencephalographic Technologist must have and meet the following:
  • Degree: Certificate
  • Education: Complete certification in the specialty area
  • Certification: Certified by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET). Employees must possess and maintain current basic life support (BLS) through an American Heart Association approved training program.
  • Experience: One year of full-time experience as an Electroencephalographic Technologist.
Job Summary:
  • Perform routine diagnostic studies and services
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures in accordance with the MTF policies.
  • Determine if any special patient preparation is required.
  • Modify or adjust the recording strategy and/or instrument parameters based on the technologists evaluation of recorded data to ensure a complete, comprehensive, and technically satisfactory study.
  • Process studies and submit them to the requesting physician.
  • Document all procedures and maintain records in accordance with the established policy at the place of performance.
  • As directed, perform system calibrations and quality control tasks according to the manufacturer and MTF policies.
  • Recognize the need for and institute the necessary emergency measures for situations where a person requires resuscitation procedures due to cardiac or respiratory arrest.
  • Reviewing and dispositioning consultation request.
  • Scheduling patients.
  • Maintaining equipment (in collaboration with the vendor and with the facility's medical
    maintenance section) and electrodes.
  • Educating patients regarding the studies performed (preparing patients for procedures).
  • Performing urgent and expedited EEG studies as warranted (in addition to routine
    studies) to include prolonged EEG recordings.
  • Performing EEG and/or evoked potentials in the inpatient and outpatient settings (to
    include the NICU, PICU, and ICU environments).
  • Maintaining appropriate continuing medical education credits to maintain EEG certification.
