Position Overview:
An Electronic Technician (C1) is responsible for overseeing the functionality of the electronic instrumentation throughout the facility. All tasks must be performed safely, in accordance with experience, training, instructions and guidance from Quality Management or designee. This position performs duties with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Repairs, installs, and inspects electronic systems and devices as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings, or specifications.
- Calibrates electronic instrumentation and sensing equipment used to monitor cable manufacturing processes.
- Installs and repairs the camera, paging, and speaker systems throughout the facility.
- Ability to work with other trades, manufacturing personnel, engineers, and supervisory personnel to develop and implement changes to electronic components and modify operation of process control equipment.
- Properly completes maintenance records and calibration records on paper and in a variety of computer systems.
- Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals, work instructions, schematics, and blueprints.
- Determines material or replacement needs and a logical method for repair; takes appropriate action to meet those needs and makes repairs.
- Safely operates various hand and power tools and powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and pallet jacks.
- Works as a team player to facilitate the objectives of the Maintenance Department.
- Follows safety guidelines (PPE, etc.) and demonstrates safe work practices and plant safety rules, including Lockout/Tagout and NFPA 70e
- Responds to multiple assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Overtime may be required, based on business need; regular attendance required.
- Works with and as inspectors to verify correct production line setups.
- Regular audits of production lines and associated systems.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - An Associate degree in electronic technology or comparable training/work experience
- At least 5 years of experience troubleshooting industrial electronic equipment using scopes, meters, and other types of electronic test equipment. Items to include temperature, pressure, proximity, and level sensors along with rotary ecoders.
- Experience with electronic instrument calibration programs and using NIST standards for calibrations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-directed.
- Possess the ability to react to changes of responsibility throughout the shift. Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments.
- Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
- Must be willing to work any shift as needed, including weekends.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Must be able to pass a written and hands-on, job-related test.
- Computer skills, including familiarization with Microsoft Office is strongly preferred.
- Ability to solder and terminate various types of common electrical connectors.
