Posting Summary:

Provide general equipment maintenance and repair functions to the Custodial Services Department in the academic, administrative, Residential Life, Davis Center and Athletics buildings. Position is supervised by the CSD Unit Manager.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):

High school diploma and one year of related work experience required. Valid Vermont driver's license and driver's check is required to include successful completion of the University of Vermont drivers safety course in order to drive a University vehicle. Specific physical requirements may apply based on specific job functions. Effective interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team required. General knowledge of computers and various computer programs required. Physical ability to perform essential functions of the job including the ability to climb a ladder and shoveling snow required. Lifting up to 80lbs, pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. and reaching above chest level for extended periods of time required. Ability to respond to after-hours emergency call-ins required. Ability to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to workplace diversity, sustainability and delivering exceptional value our customers required.

Anticipated Pay Range:

$18 to $22/hour

Other Information:

May be called upon to respond to after-hours emergency calls.

Special Conditions:

Bargaining Unit Position - United Electrical Workers, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, 40 hour work week, Background Check required for this position, A post-offer pre-employment (POPE test) physical examination is required
