Job purpose

Watson is currently looking for a Field Service Tech to join our growing team! Come join us as we offer our customers more than 100 years of combined experience in the tank custom manufacturing field. We are passionate about working closely with our customers and engineering the most creative solutions to meet our customers' needs.

Our Millwright will be under limited supervision as they collaborate with sales, production and engineering to provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting of equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical services and customer support during field visits.
  • Manage on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, and field tests.
  • Troubleshoot issues and diagnose problematic symptoms of equipment to improve performance and operation.
  • Produce timely, detailed service reports of services required and provided.
  • Understand customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Provide a positive representation of Watson in every situation presented.
  • Maintain trusting, productive relationships with our customers.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to help the rest of the Watson team.

Qualifications

Education
  • High school diploma required.

Specialized Knowledge and Experience
  • A minimum of five years of manufacturing experience or experience in a technical field.
  • Ability and willingness to travel with short notice and for multiple days, 60-75% of the time.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Passion for customer service with a high sense of urgency
  • A self-starter, able to take an opportunity and create a solution based on our customers' needs.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Mastery in maintenance functions including best practices in preventative maintenance planning.
  • Sound operation abilities with overhead cranes, forklifts, and all hand tools.
  • Experience in welding, preferred MIG and TIG for stainless.
  • Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to successfully follow through on assignments.
  • Understanding of safety standards is required, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must be trustworthy, dependable, and able to work well with other team members.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Safety is of utmost importance. All team members must observe safety procedures and use equipment and materials properly; must wear safety glasses and steel toe boots.
