Job Title: HR Manager

Location: Carroll, IA

Reports To: HR Director

Job Summary: The HR Manager will oversee all human resources functions at our large manufacturing plant. This role involves managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with labor laws. The HR Manager will work closely with plant leadership to ensure a productive and positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Staffing: Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent. Manage the hiring process, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, mediating conflicts, and implementing employee engagement initiatives.
  • Performance Management: Oversee the performance appraisal process, provide guidance to managers on performance issues, and develop performance improvement plans.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and career development.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Administer compensation and benefits programs, conduct salary surveys, and ensure competitive pay structures.
  • Health and Safety: Collaborate with the safety team to promote a safe working environment and manage workers' compensation claims.
  • HR Metrics: Track and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare reports for plant leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
Working Conditions:
  • This position is based at a large manufacturing plant and may require occasional travel.
  • The role involves working in both office and plant environments.
