SUMMARY
Bering Straits Native Corporation Anchorage office is currently seeking a qualified Human Resources Supervisor to plan and coordinate all HR activities of the BSNC HR Team, which supports BSNC & Subsidiaries across all locations. Position ensures the daily functions and transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. The incumbent will continually seek efficiencies and process improvements to improve the HR services of the organization under the direction of the Sr. HR Manager.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead and manage a team of HR Business Partners, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their success and oversees all HR operations/transactions and day-to-day activities. Including providing overall prioritization of day-to-day work assignments and management of functional team resources and their activities.
- Oversee the entire employee life cycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with company objectives.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues for Business Partners, including, but not limited to providing guidance and support to HR Business Partners and managers to resolve conflicts and maintain a positive work environment.
- Partner with other departments, such as Legal, Finance, and Operations, to ensure HR initiatives are integrated and aligned with overall business strategies.
- Serve as an interface between internal/external customers and the functional team members to ensure effective definition of and delivery of HR services utilizing technology to the maximum extent possible.
- Under the direction of the HR Manager, coordinates policies with organizational goals and ensures HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with relevant laws and regulations across all jurisdictions where the company operates.
- Facilitates HRIS system configuration and maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades or patches between Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, and the HR Business Partners.
- Assists in generating reports/queries, including writing, maintaining and supporting a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Utilizes HR data and analytics to identify trends, assess the effectiveness of HR programs, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and practices, seeking opportunities to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and improve the employee experience; identifies, researches, and resolves problems
- Assist in the development and maintenance of affirmative action program, annual filing of EEO-1 and VETS100 reports, and maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations in coordination with the Recruiting Manager.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications - Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions in several functional areas.
- Associates degree in a related field; Bachelor's is strongly preferred.
- Experience implementing new HRIS systems and platforms in support of HR and company operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems, ERP systems, and compensation/employee review tracking systems.
- Must have some familiarity with federal and state employment laws, processes, and procedures and have a desire to deepen both knowledge and experience including but not limited to OFCCP.
- Previous experience in a multi company environment doing business with the federal government. Experience with government contracting including SCA, DBA, wage determinations and associated regulations and requirements.
- Proficient in the usage of computers, especially Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to demonstrate good communication, interpersonal, motivational, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing a multitude of tasks.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary data and meet required deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of the Human Resources disciplines and best practices; applicable Federal and state employment law such as Title VII, EEOC, ADEA, FMLA, SCA, DBA, US DOL Wage & Hour, USERRA, ADA, ERISA, and FLSA.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics - Maintain a thorough understanding of employment regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, applicable laws, and employment legislation pertaining to all personnel matters, and various federal requirements.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customers and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Must have superior customer service skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with employees and outside vendors. Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.
- Ability to organize tasks to ensure that all deadlines are met.
- Must be able to discover and see compliance problems that may arise in the corporation and bring the concern to management's attention for action.
- Must be able to interpret complex documents and formulate an opinion, such as Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Must have the ability to listen and understand employee concerns and formulate a decision to resolve the issues.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of employees including all levels of executive, management, and staff.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have proficient skills in Microsoft suite-based programs.
Preferred - Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
- Prior experience with HRIS data management, preferably Deltek CostPoint or UKG.
- Prior experience dealing with or working in a union environment.
- Prior experience working with an Alaska Native Corporation or ample knowledge of Alaska Native culture.

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting.
