Martin Marietta seeks an intern for our Corporate Geology team. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about learning new skills and who possess a high drive to success and excellence. The team is open to a flexible work schedule to accommodate the right candidate's availability.

Skills prerequisites:

• Current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate Geology degree
• Has already completed coursework in sedimentology and stratigraphy

What you can expect to gain in this role:

• Sort out cores and send to company lab
• Relog to modern standards
• Summarize testing results
• Organize and scan exploration data
• Attempt to identify rock units and thickness in core logs
• Obtain location and elevation of drill holes and input data into spreadsheet
• Introduction to aggregate mining operations
• Tours of limestone quarries/mines and sand & gravel operations
• Gain knowledge of the mining industry related to aggregate mining
• Quality Control process
• Gradation sampling
• Customer site visit
• Gradation data and report analysis
• Safety program
• Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) New Miner training
• Exposure to a World Class safety program
