Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Quality Control team in Cincinnati, OH.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the routine testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications. You will work closely with senior laboratory staff, learning laboratory techniques and gaining hands-on experience in a regulated environment while supporting day-to-day operations in the QC lab.
Key Responsibilities

Perform Routine Laboratory Testing: Assist with testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications. Testing may include physical, chemical, and analytical methods such as pH testing, titration, and viscosity analyses.

Sample Handling: Receive, label, and prepare samples for testing according to established procedures. Maintain an organized and accurate record of all samples, ensuring proper documentation and traceability.

Instrument Operation and Calibration: Support the operation and routine calibration of laboratory instruments such as pH meters, balances, and other analytical devices. Learn to operate and troubleshoot common lab equipment under supervision.

Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately record test results and observations in laboratory notebooks and/or the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Ensure all entries are compliant with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and company standards.

Regulatory Compliance: Follow all regulatory guidelines, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices), to ensure testing procedures are in compliance with industry and company standards. Assist in maintaining laboratory records and documentation for audits and inspections.

Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Properly handle chemicals and hazardous materials according to safety guidelines.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with experienced QC staff and cross-functional teams to ensure efficient laboratory operations. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure that all testing is completed accurately and on time.

Training and Development: Participate in on-the-job training and development opportunities to learn and enhance technical skills in laboratory testing, equipment operation, and quality control processes.

Support Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas for improvements in laboratory processes, efficiency, and safety protocols. Actively participate in lab meetings and training sessions.
QualificationsEducation:- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, or a related scientific field is required. Graduates or candidates with relevant academic coursework are encouraged to apply.
Experience:

No professional work experience required, but previous internships, laboratory coursework, or volunteer experience in a laboratory setting is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques, such as sample preparation, chemical testing, or use of laboratory equipment, gained through coursework or internships.
Skills:

Basic Laboratory Skills: Familiarity with common laboratory procedures such as pipetting, preparing solutions, and conducting simple chemical and physical tests.

Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately record results and follow established protocols while maintaining high standards of quality and precision.

Technical Aptitude: Willingness and ability to learn how to operate laboratory instruments, including spectrophotometers, pH meters, balances, and other lab equipment.

Data Management: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and a willingness to learn laboratory software tools, such as LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), for data entry and reporting.

Safety Awareness: Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and the importance of adhering to safety guidelines for chemical handling, waste disposal, and general laboratory operations.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting test results and interacting with colleagues and supervisors.

Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues and supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is a plus.
- Experience in using basic analytical instrumentation (e.g., pH meters, balances, UV-VIS spectrophotometers) during academic projects or internships.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines such as FDA or EPA standards, especially in the manufacturing industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry laboratory materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and precision.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, gloves, and safety goggles as needed in the lab.
Work Environment and Conditions:

Schedule: Full-time position with standard business hours. Occasional overtime or weekend shifts may be required depending on workload and project deadlines.
