Job Summary:

The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, reporting to the Director of Continuous Improvement, is responsible for leading and implementing Lean Six Sigma projects and improvement activities within our organization. This role will use the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology and analytics to accomplish objectives sponsored by the asphalt leadership team. The successful candidate will work with teams to improve business effectiveness, eliminate waste, and reduce variation.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead Lean Six Sigma projects within our Corporate Processes and Manufacturing Operations
  • Train and mentor Green Belts, Yellow Belts, and Lean Leaders in the Lean Six Sigma methodology
  • Help create and capture business processes and Standard Work
  • Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities using data-driven approaches.
  • Develop and manage project timelines and deliverables
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to present project updates and outcomes including the Executive Leadership Team, Plant Managers, Environmental Health and Safety Team, QA/QC Team and other individuals within the Lean Six Sigma community
  • Gain buy-in from stakeholders for business transformation
  • Lead teams to achieve project objectives for high impact problems using the LSS methodology
  • Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in all levels of the business from the AMI Executive Leadership Team to the plant operators
  • Support and lead cross-functional teams to deliver business and customer requirements
  • Apply advanced decision making, assessment techniques, and statistical methods to business issues and opportunities
  • Well versed with data categorizing programs such as Excel and Minitab
  • Strong presentation skills utilizing MS Office Suite

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Certified THG Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with a strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles, systems, and tools (preferred)
  • Experience in process improvement roles (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross functional
  • Teams
  • Ability to travel 25%+ of the time
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including additional hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and in-plant environment
  • Position requires a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background, physical and drug screen
  • This role is Hybrid, reporting 4 days per week to our corporate office located at 8720 Robbins Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
