Position Summary
Reporting to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager, The Maintenance Automation Specialist will focus on PLC program troubleshooting, automated controls & integration, and equipment troubleshooting & repairs. This role bridges the gap between Automation Engineering and Automation Technicians, with a hands-on approach to ensure seamless operation and continuous improvement of production systems, process support, and equipment reliability. This technician will also train fellow maintenance staff, help develop training material for troubleshooting and preventive maintenance and work overtime as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Proficiency in shop mathematics and the ability to work from blueprints and repair manuals.
Troubleshooting control circuits, including ladder logic, motor controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Maintain, repair, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all types of production equipment, including metal stamping, rubber molding, packaging equipment, and automation systems.
Train maintenance staff on the operation and troubleshooting of automation systems.
Develop training materials and conduct hands-on training sessions.
Preferred knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
Work with manufacturing and engineering help resolve downtime, training, and continuous improvements.
Implement continuous improvements and upgrades to existing equipment and work cells.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Electrical or Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 10 years of PLC experience, to include editing ladder logic, with Allen Bradley systems.
Minimum of 5-7 years of Industrial Manufacturing experience.
Physical and Mental Demands
Moderate physical demand, frequently exerting moderate effort and occasionally average effort in handling tools and instruments, moving, and positioning parts and materials.
Continuous mental and visual attention required to perform a variety of electrical, electronic, building, and equipment maintenance duties.
Constant care in working overhead and handling pipe and conduit close to electric circuits up to 480 volts to prevent serious or partially incapacitating injuries to others.
Working Conditions
Exposure to dirt, water, oil, and chemicals. Noise within facility requires hearing protection.
