Your Role:

The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Site Head of Process Engineering & Maintenance. This position ensures that all equipment is operating efficiently, minimizing downtime, and extending the lifespan of machinery through effective preventive maintenance programs. The manager will lead a team of technicians / controls engineers, collaborate with other departments, and ensure that maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations. Your duties will include maintaining machinery, planning repair activities, scheduling preventative maintenance, and developing maintenance procedures. The successful candidate will have broad-based industrial maintenance leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise maintenance/calibration technicians and controls engineers, including task assignments, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
  • Promote and enforce ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards in the maintenance department.
  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment functionality, coordinating with operations for scheduling.
  • Create and implement maintenance procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and failures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies for machine repairs, ensuring adequate levels to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures among all department workers.
  • Supervise safety and environmental programs to meet regulatory and Kaiser requirements, acting as a safety ambassador.
  • Take ownership of safety processes and conduct maintenance safety program audits (e.g., Lockout/Tag Out, Confined Space).
  • Collaborate with R&D and Process Engineering for project needs (time, support, equipment).
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective resource use and monitoring expenditures.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and ensure documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Develop departmental strategy and future state plan (roadmap).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field
  • 5+ years' experience in a leadership role
  • 3+ years' experience using Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams & Outlook)
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 environments
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma concepts and OSHA knowledge
