The Role

In this role, you will manage and develop the logistics processes and systems on inbound transportation, warehousing, packaging, outbound transportation as well as sample shipments. In this role, the Manager will support the business to fulfill distribution and logistics requirements and will ensure monitoring, governance and continual improvement of distribution and logistics execution.

Here's What You'll Do

  • Ensure an efficient material flow across Moderna's logistics network: Inbound transportation, Warehousing, intercompany and distribution as well as sample shipments
  • Ensure processes are adherent to Health Authority requirements and guidelines, such as Good Distribution, Manufacturing and Storage Practices
  • Implement GDP and GMP compliant logistics processes: handling of goods, shipping validation and customs clearance, etc.
  • Manage daily operations of inbound, outbound, intercompany and sample shipments out of Moderna facilities as well as out of local and regional 3rd party logistics providers
  • Act as local SAP key user for Logistics and Distribution activities
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing, Service Providers, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Quality and Operations to ensure customer requirements are being met.
  • Drive development of interaction between systems and processes
  • Support implementation of Digital/IT tools to drive automation of processes and optimize logistics procedures
  • Implement KPI to measure performance of Logistics Service Providers
  • Update and implement Logistics SOPs - internally and with 3rd Party Logistics providers
  • Co-ordinate and manage internal and external parties to deliver projects as needed to meet business requirements.
  • Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time

Here's What You'll Need (Basic Qualifications)
  • Education: BS/BA degree
  • Experience: 8-10 years (BS) or 5-8 years (MS) in various Distribution/Logistics functions and Supply Chain

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Degree in supply chain / logistics, engineering, or management/business administration
  • Strong preference for Pharmaceutical and Biotech experience. Experience working in a cGMP and cGDP environment with a good understanding of the Pharma industry & Supply Chain
  • Experience with Cold Chain Transportation Products is a plus
  • Working knowledge of GDP and relevant guidelines and regulations
  • Experience in SAP or related ERP system is required
  • Experience of logistics software (transport management system, visibility tools)
  • APICS certification (Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD)) is a plus
  • Well organized - a natural ability to be organized in how you think, communicate, and conduct your work
  • Demonstrate a strong and independent work ethic that sees tasks to completion.
  • You drive for results and demonstrate the ability to develop solutions. You love what you do, and it shows
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively collaborate and communicate with senior CMC Management in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment - you are outgoing, communicative, and seek to build relationships daily
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
