Manager, Information Technology
This role is a manager of a technical or application group with responsibility for multiple teams that perform support functions, and/or development and implementation, for complex infrastructure components or customer application systems that relate to mainframe, networking, personal computer, distributed computing and/or internet technologies. This role will also work closely together with the business partners and manage the relationships.
What You Will Do:
Reporting to the incumbent are internal and contracted resources that may include any or all the following:
- Senior IT Analysts, IT Analysts (various levels of experience), Associate IT Analysts, and other technical or customer liaison personnel at various levels.
- Role also ensures standard work is defined, monitored and supported to ensure the scope of services achieve and maintain compliance to internal policies and procedures, including those relating to sustainability, cybersecurity, SOX, and IT General Controls.
- Provides guidance and results review to ensure customer quality needs are met.
- Makes efficient use of available information technology and must be aware of I/S technology trends to develop compatible systems.
- Utilizes group standards, practices, and processes; establishes, manages, and reports adherence to schedules and may contribute to resolution of complex problems and systems challenges that involve careful interpretation, analysis and diagnosis.
- Review standard courses of action and recommends the best options.
- Ability to create and make clear and useful presentations based on ideas, issues, and observations.
- One key role for the incumbent is that of change agent related to complex infrastructure and/or application components impacting worldwide I/T customers.
- Provides input to staffing decisions, counsels staff and may serve on special projects and committees.
- Participates in the objective setting and business planning process and assists with cost containment and improvement, efficient use of resources and customer satisfaction.
- Develops well-prepared action plans for the current year and has a clear sense of what needs to be achieved in the year to come.
- Limited travel may be required to make presentations and assure satisfactory operation of installed systems.
- Incumbent assumes the role of Project Sponsor for one or more 6 Sigma projects.
What You Have: - Relevant degree and progressive complex experiences.
- Requires previous experience in worldwide organization applications or infrastructure with a broad background in systems hardware, system software, support and development methodologies, business planning, project management, and customer application needs.
- Broad knowledge of one or more application or infrastructure component.

Vendor/Supplier Management: - Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers).

- Monitors and communicates vendor effectiveness, reliability, and performance.
- Influences existing and new vendor relationships and the approved vendor list.
- Interprets documents detailing service provisions and financial arrangements.
- Explains case studies of effective and ineffective partnering relationships and lessons learned.
- Advises others on the issues and considerations for working with new vendors, suppliers, or partners.
IT Service Management (ITSM): - Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) service; ability to manage IT services and oversee service operations.
- Oversees the establishment and use of best practices in IT service management.
- Leads in the development of information technology and personal technical skills.
- Promotes the use of standard procedures in each function of IT services.
- Creates criteria to measure professional services; ensures the quality of IT services.
- Forecasts technological industry trends and potential risks in IT service management.
- Provides insight into system optimization and development of process-focused IT services.
