Job Description

Position Overview
As the Manager, Shop Operations you will provide day-to-day management of shop personnel and oversight to a ~30k sq. ft. warehouse and repair/fabrication facility. The Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient remanufacturing of major components and parts, managing a team of technicians, and maintaining a high standard of safety and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, uphold, and enforce safety standards, protocols, and procedures.
  • Oversee the remanufacturing process of major components, ensuring precision and quality in every step of the process.
  • Development on internal controls, processes, and procedures
  • Recruit, train, manage, and lead a team of approximately 5-6 technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Manage the safe and smooth operation of all equipment in the machine shop, conducting regular maintenance and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Assist with the selection and purchase of tools and other equipment needed for the facility.
  • Ensure that all remanufactured components and parts meet or exceed quality standards and specifications.
  • Plan and manage workflow to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Facilitate the shipping and receiving of spare parts and major components from the warehouse
  • Allocate resources efficiently to optimize production and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and manage the budget for the machine shop, including expenses related to equipment maintenance and personnel.
  • Represent Invenergy to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide a high level of professionalism and technical expertise.

Required Skills
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to manipulate up to 100 pounds (lbs.).
  • Proficient in the operation and maintenance of machine shops tools and equipment.
  • Experience in quality control processes and procedures.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Skills
  • Degree in a technical discipline.
  • Understanding of supply chain processes.
  • Proficiency in analyzing production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Overhead gantry crane or crane experience.
  • Familiarity with regulations, standards, and best practices regarding the layout and workflow at industrial facilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, quality, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changes on short notice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience in budget management and cost control.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
