Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and submitting medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing procedures, and the ability to communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies.

SALARY: $24 - $26/hourly

LOCATION: Chelmsford, MA (on-site)

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Accurately assign billing codes based on medical documentation and ensure all claims are submitted correctly to insurance companies.
  • Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies either electronically or via paper.
  • Monitor and follow up on unpaid claims, working with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Generate and send out patient statements, respond to patient billing inquiries, and resolve any billing issues.
  • Accurately post payments received from insurance companies and patients, ensuring correct application to accounts.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of medical billing procedures, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
