The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.

Holman has an exciting opportunity within the Human Resources Department for an Onboarding Specialist.

Principal Purpose of Position:

  • Greet new hires and introduce them to the organization's culture and operations, embodying the "Holman Way".
  • Develop and maintain efficient onboarding procedures for all employees, including the creation of checklists for new hires.
  • Ensure new hires progress smoothly through the onboarding process without delays, providing necessary resources for a successful first day.
  • Coordinate communication among new hires, hiring managers, IT, and HR to facilitate a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Identify new employees and their hiring managers before their start dates.
  • Communicate with new hires prior to their start dates to ensure completion of necessary paperwork and assist with processing employee paperwork (e.g., I9s).
  • Schedule and oversee new hire training sessions in collaboration with the Holman University team.
  • Ensure compliance with onboarding requirements and eLearning offerings, updating information and materials as necessary.
  • Facilitate onboarding and cultural training sessions for new hires.
  • Conduct in-person orientation presentations to familiarize new hires with company policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Assist new employees in acclimating to their work environment by connecting them with available resources, especially within HR, including employee programs and benefits.
  • Plan and coordinate events designed to welcome and integrate new hires into the organization.
  • Implement, monitor, and report on the New Hire Survey to assess the effectiveness of the onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with the HR Technology & Analytics team to monitor new hire turnover and retention rates.
  • Create opportunities for new hires to network with other new and existing employees, fostering a sense of belonging and community within the organization.
  • Consult with hiring managers to develop department-specific onboarding plans tailored to their team's needs.
  • Coordinate the issuance of building access badges for new hires.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Additional education, certifications, or experience are a plus
  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)
  • Familiarity with office technology and equipment, including computers, fax machines, scanners, printers, phone systems, etc.

Relevant Work Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service
  • 1+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Proficiency in a technical or functional area; knowledge of work processes and tools is generally limited to own area of responsibility or department

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $25.15 - $36.47 USD per hour.
