The Division of Oncology at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for an individual to join our Thoracic program. The successful candidate for this open rank faculty position in the Division of Oncology will have clinical expertise in Thoracic medical oncology and related research experience such as clinical research, translational research, outcomes research, or an interest in education (direct patient and/or clinician directed).
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers an exceptionally collaborative environment with a very strong Thoracic Oncology clinical program with basic, translational clinical trials and DEI outcomes research in Thoracic cancers. The Thoracic research program is supported by a team of professionals, including study coordinators, data coordinators, program managers, regulatory experts, IND experts and protocol writers. The Thoracic oncology clinical team is also comprised of thoracic surgeons, interventional pulmonary, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and radiologists.
As this is an open rank posting, the candidate hired into this position could be hired into a fixed term, variable track or tenure track faculty appointment. Minority and female candidate are particularly encouraged to apply.
MD or DO required. The candidate must be board eligible or board certified in Medical Oncology. Essential skills for this position include effective interprofessional collaboration and teamwork, and excellent clinical communication skills relevant to serious illness care. The successful candidate will have clinical expertise and research experience.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Prefer candidates with broad medical knowledge and demonstrate excellence in medical practice.
