Volt is immediately hiring a Pilot Plant Technician in Austin, TX, with a well-known industry leader. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a new career. This is a first shift position.
As a Pilot Plant Technician you will:
- Assemble new types of fiber optic connectors using detailed work procedures
- Test the optical performance of new types of optical fiber connectors
- Work with other technicians and optical engineers to efficiently make and test connector samples for experimental investigations.
Estimated Duration up to 24 months. The ideal candidate will have: - High School diploma/GED
- One (1) year of experience working in laboratory or pilot line setting
- Able to pay attention to detail and follow detailed written work procedures.
- Able to work with hands to assemble small parts.
- Able to work on site daily from 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm initially transitioning to 3pm to 11pm as demand increases
- Able to utilize Microsoft Excel for data input, formatting & analysis
Pay Rate: $25.95 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
