Post Doctoral Associate

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Post Doctoral Associate to work at the Soffer Clinical Research Center. The Division of Neurocritical Care at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital is seeking a Postdoctoral position to work on recovery of consciousness after traumatic brain injury as part of multidisciplinary clinical and research team. The qualified candidate will work on research directed toward identifying biomarkers of recovery after brain injury using electroencephalogram, imaging data, and other type of data.

• Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.
  
• Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
  
• Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
  
• Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
  
• Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
  
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or MD in cognitive neuroscience, data science (computer science), or computational neuroscience, biomedical engineering and other domains with expertise in scientific studies of consciousness.
  
• No prior experience required
  
• Preferred prior experience with neuroscience research (i.e. electroencephalogram, imaging and transmagnetic stimulation). Prior experience with using MatLab/Python/R is preferred.

• Skilled in collected, organizing, and analyzing the data.
  
• Problem solving and sound judgment in making decisions are critical.
  
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
