SUMMARY

The COS (Carlisle Operating System) Engineer position is a leader and contributor for activities related to the implementation and use of Lean / COS activity in the facility. This position is expected to use engineering principles and tools to identify areas for opportunity, support and contribute to the team to analyze data and implement improvements. This position will help lead the team to drive down costs, control variation, and improve processes. Reporting to the COS Manager, part of the team that will drive continuous improvement in the facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Provide overall support and contribution in COS problem solving to the team.
* Significant problem-solving involving changes in products, processes and equipment leading to improvement to improve the business.
* Assisting in the development of new processes including, standard work, Product Instructions and Manufacturing Instructions
* Participate in Engineering Change Order process to incorporate Standard Work documentation corrections, routing and BOM corrections and other documentation errors
* Assist in evaluating new tools, equipment, and processes to aid in production efficiency and safety
* Providing data and analysis to drive CAPEX decisions
* Competency in tools such as 8D, PFMEA, DMEA, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
* Participate in and lead Continuous Improvement events

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

* ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toed shoes where required
* Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses
* Hearing protection, in specific locations

SALARY INFORMATION

In compliance with CA state law, the annual base hourly range for this position is $22.50/hr - $25/hr. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Carlisle Interconnect Technologies reviews factors such as but not limited to responsibilities of the position, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal pay equity, as well as market considerations when extending an offer.

QUALIFICATIONS

* 0-1+ years of experience in engineering and continuous improvement and an understanding of electromechanical assembly and test; wire harness manufacturing, RF cable, RF connector build and test familiarity a plus
* Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and change management skills in complex organizations
* Dynamic communication skills with ability to work at all levels of an organization including briefings to senior leaders
* Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and Minitab.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other STEM background in process.

* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

* Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

JOB SKILLS

* Working familiarity with ERP and configuration management tools
* Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) proficiency
* The ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
