JamesCare for Life (JCFL) and the Childrens Program (COH) provide a broad range of educational outreach and supportive services for oncology patients, caregivers, families and the community, including education classes, support groups, nutrition programs, exercise, complimentary and art and music therapy. This position will manage the administrative needs and program coordination for the departments. Additionally the program coordinator will supervise student employees and is responsible for the recruitment, orientation and scheduling of volunteers in the outpatient/ambulatory setting. The program coordinator will serve as a primary point of contact for the marketing department. The program coordinator will recommend strategies for streamlining and optimizing the efficiency of internal systems for projects and programs of the department and must have demonstrated experience in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access. The program coordinator will work closely with marketing on the development of class listings, fliers, posters, electronic and social media outreach and all other marketing and outreach initiatives. The program coordinator is responsible for scheduling of volunteer musicians at the main hospital and outpatient/ambulatory settings, as well as maintaining a broad and varied collection of CDs, audiotapes, and equipment for listening libraries used in the outpatient settings. The program coordinator is responsible for implementing, coordinating and evaluating the JCFL and COH programs. The program coordinator will also collaborate in the development, implementation and coordination of funded grant projects. The department typically operates 8:00-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, but evening and weekends will be required for execution of roles and responsibilities for classes and outreach activities.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree desired or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required; extensive computer skills with windows, word processing, spreadsheet, database and electronic mail. Must have strong program development and project management skills; demonstrated experience in research and evaluation; excellent written and oral communication skills required; sensitivity to and understanding of the continuous and supportive care needs of the patient/family with cancer.
